  • Art Van takes a structured approach to goal setting and provides these tools to our associates, guests, business partners, and anyone who’s interested in joining our movement – to celebrate a happy new you! Goals are only useful if you set them thoughtfully, follow them carefully, and remind yourself why you set them in the first place.

  • Those were thought-provoking questions, Dan, that stimulated some serious reflection on my part. Ever the nit-picker, I noticed that the Survey Monkey asked about setting goals in 2010. I wonder if that is an error? Nevertheless, it made me think!

  • I have always believed that “what gets measured, gets done.” If you don’t write down your goals, and share them with someone who can measure your success objectively; How do you actually know if you’ve met them? I’ve never been a compulsive writer of To Do lists, but I journal, and set specific personal goals regarding each year’s outcomes of my battles with leukemia and chronic Graft versus Host disease. It reinforces that I am not a victim, but a soldier in the battle for my life. Some I share with my doctors and some with my caregiver — my wife. Both can be brutally honest, which allows me to celebrate my victories and know I am not fooling myself.
