Next Week Will Be Great But In a New Way

I am guessing that you did not notice that I first published last week’s “Reading for Leading” about Dr. King in January of 2007.  (I updated one line about Black Lives Matter.)   Many of you weren’t even getting “Reading for Leading” in 2007.  I am coming upon my 16th anniversary of birthing RFL (God willing I’ll get to 1000 columns in a few years).  It’s been a joyful labor of love and thought.

And it will continue!  With a brief change.

For the next few months I am taking an RFL sabbatical on writing fresh material, so that I can focus more on my two Monday classes on leadership, and so I can focus on writing in my new area of “paired leadership,” or “leading partners.”  I expect I will come back with some cool new thoughts for you, as this field has captivated me.

I don’t think you will notice a difference next week, unless you can remember columns from years ago. I’m choosing columns that were opened, commented upon, and forwarded by the most people; and like last week, I’ll try to stay relevant/seasonal.  So, next week, the best-ever series.

Perhaps you should think of a little sabbatical of your own to stay fresh and focused.  What might you take a break from for a bit to help you to

Lead with your best self?!
